    Jami Passer

    CIO, EDENS

    With extensive real estate experience and transactional expertise, as Chief Investment Officer, Jami Passer is responsible for EDENS’ core portfolio, while developing and executing the growth strategy. Throughout her 12 years at EDENS, Jami has been responsible for more than $750 million of transactions. During her time as Managing Director, she was responsible for all development, leasing and acquisition activities in the Florida region, and was instrumental in identifying exceptional acquisition opportunities in South Florida’s high barrier-to-entry market. Prior to joining EDENS, she was a partner and consultant with P3 Partners, a South Florida real estate advisory firm. Previously, she was a Managing Director in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group of Andersen Corporate Finance. Jami received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania. She serves on the Steering Committee of the International Council of Shopping Centers South Florida Idea Exchange.

    Steve Weikal

    Head of Industry Relations, MIT Center for Real Estate

    Steve Weikal is Head of Industry Relations at the MIT Center for Real Estate, responsible for managing relationships between the Center and its global network of industry partners and nearly 1100 alumni of the MIT Master’s in Real Estate Development (MSRED) program, in 44 countries. He is also a lecturer and researcher, focused on innovative new technology and business models that disrupt the traditional ways of developing, transacting and managing real estate. Steve was the Founder of MIT Real Disruption, a successful series of conferences discussing the impact of emerging technology on the real estate industry that is now part of the international CREtech conference platform. He is a member of the CREtech Leadership Board, and sits on the advisory boards of three real estate technology start-ups. Steve has spoken extensively about real estate technology at conferences for AFIRE, IREM, SIOR, CCIM, CoreNet, ICSC and BOMA, and has been quoted by numerous media outlets, including BuzzFeed, TechInsider, the Boston Globe, GlobeSt. the Real Reporter, IPE Real Assets and Anuario Inmobiliario LatinoAmerica. Steve holds a Master’s of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) and Master’s in City Planning (MCP) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a law degree from Suffolk University Law School. He is a licensed attorney, a licensed real estate broker and a LEED Accredited Professional.

    Fritz Wyler

    Managing Director & Head of Capital Deployment, East Region, Prologis

    Fritz Wyler is Managing Director and Head of Capital Deployment for the East Region of the USA and Canada where he is responsible for overseeing all Investment and Development activity across the region while overseeing retail conversions nationally. He joined AMB Property Corp in 1999 and over the past 21 years with he has led several initiatives including its market entry into Japan, China, Singapore, Korea and running its offices in Japan and Singapore. During this time, he also served as the regional leader of Global Customer Solutions in Asia and headed regional asset management and leasing. He returned to the USA in 2001 following the AMB-PLD merger and has primarily focused on investment and development opportunities in the Eastern and Western USA. Prior to joining Prologis, Fritz worked for Cushman & Wakefield and at Colliers International in their commercial brokerage division. He is an active member of NAIOP and APREA and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of California.

    Mark Wilson

    President and CEO, Florida Chamber of Commerce

    Mark Wilson serves as president and chief executive officer of Florida’s largest and most influential business advocacy organization. Wilson leads the substantial political, lobbying, grassroots, and economic research operations of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. The Florida Chamber focuses on making Florida more competitive by creating a business climate that generates prosperity, championing diversity and high-paying jobs. Through his focus on unifying the business community, Wilson created the Florida Business Agenda and the Florida Chamber Grassroots Network, which mobilizes Florida's business community on key jobs issues ranging from taxes and talent, to lawsuit abuse and regulatory improvement. Wilson was also the first president of the Florida Justice Reform Institute, a Florida Chamber partner organization focused on reducing frivolous lawsuits and fixing Florida's broken legal climate. In addition to his legislative successes, Wilson is also the architect of groundbreaking statewide political campaigns that safeguarded our economy through significant constitutional amendment reforms, as well as numerous legislative and issue campaigns. In addition to statewide political campaigns, the Chamber's political efforts are making sure the right people are elected and unelected in the Florida legislature. Wilson serves on the Board of Directors of Florida Association of Chamber Professionals, Enterprise Florida, Leadership Florida, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Chamber Foundation, is a regular participant in the Florida Council of 100, serves as the chair of the National Association of State Chambers, and is an active member of the U.S. Chamber’s Committee of 100. A native of Illinois, Wilson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and has earned the national designation of Certified Chamber Executive (CCE). Prior to joining the Florida Chamber, Wilson served as vice president of the Chicagoland Chamber and previously served with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

    Albert Dotson

    Partner, Bilzin Sumberg

    Al Dotson serves as Bilzin Sumberg's Managing Partner and in his role, he oversees the Firm's operations. By leveraging innovative technology and focusing on a multidisciplinary approach, Al leads the Firm's attorneys and professionals to provide a client experience that represents our pillars of trust, collaboration, preeminence, engagement, and community-mindedness. In addition to his role as Managing Partner, Al is nationally recognized for his work on public-private partnerships (P3). His experience includes rail and transit facilities, airports, marinas, sports stadiums, convention centers, healthcare/life sciences facilities, educational institutions, water and sewer facilities, and parking structures. Al is known throughout Florida for his work representing local, national, and international clients in responding to government contract solicitations and defending against, or prosecuting quasi-judicial and judicial bid protests. In 2021, Al was selected to be a member of the newly formed CEO Ambassador program, which is part of Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava's RENEW305, an economic development plan intended to spark business investment and job growth across the county.

    Kieran Bowers

    President, Swire Properties

    Prior to assuming his role as President of Swire Properties Inc in 2017, Kieran Bowers was a 20 year veteran of the company, serving in a variety of high level positions for the leading Hong Kong-based real estate developer. Mr. Bowers heads U.S. operations of the Hong Kong-based conglomerate, including overseeing Swire’s most ambitious project to date, Brickell City Centre, the 4.9-million-square-foot mixed-use project that completed its first phase of construction in 2016. Located in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood, the $1.05-billion landmark urban center sits on three city blocks and is comprised of the stylish 5-star hotel, EAST, Miami, two Class-A office towers, two luxury residential towers, Reach and Rise and a 500,000-square-foot retail center. Mr. Bowers oversees the second phase of the sprawling complex,which is anticipated to include Miami’s tallest skyscraper,advancing Brickell City Centre as a symbol of Miami’s global might and one of the most important large-scale developments in the country. Mr. Bowers began his career with John Swire and Sons, Hong Kong Ltd.in 1998 as the assistant to the general manager of Cathay Pacific Cargo,Swire’s Hong Kong based airline subsidiary. Throughout his career, he moved into management roles responsible for sales, marketing and operations in both the passenger and cargo sectors in Japan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands. From 2005 to 2008, he was responsible for the airline’s network development in China, South East Asia, the Sub-Continent and the United States.

    Donna Shalala

    Presidential Chair, Miami Board of Trustees, University of Miami

    A distinguished educator, Donna E. Shalala was President of the University of Miami (2001-2015), Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1987-1993), and President of Hunter College of the City University of New York (1980-1987). One of the most honored academics of her generation, she has been elected to seven national academies including the National Academy of Medicine, the National Academy of Education and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has more than five dozen honorary degrees from American and International Universities. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. One of the country’s first Peace Corps Volunteers, her public service also includes serving as Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services in the Clinton administration for eight years, and Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research in the Carter administration. She also represented Florida’s 27th District which includes most of Miami. In 2008 President George W. Bush selected her as the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Nation’s highest civilian award. She was named “America’s Best Leaders” by U.S. News & World Report (2005), received the Nelson Mandela Award for Health and Human Rights (2010), and was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame (2011). Congresswoman Shalala received her A.B. from Western College for Women and her PhD from Syracuse University.

    Adie Tomer

    Fellow, Metropolitan Policy Program, Brookings Institution

    Adie Tomer is a Fellow at the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program and leads the Metropolitan Infrastructure Initiative. Tomer is an expert in infrastructure policy and urban economics, with a particular focus on transportation and digital technology issues. Tomer’s work has received coverage and citations in international print publications and other media outlets, including The Economist, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, National Public Radio, and the BBC. Tomer has testified in front of the U.S. Congress about the future of American infrastructure and has advised staffs of presidential candidates. Tomer leads a team whose work aims to better understand how infrastructure policies—from the federal through local level—impact economic development, social prosperity, and environmental resilience. Their work covers multiple infrastructure sectors, including transportation, water resources, and broadband. Tomer’s team regularly publish long-form reports and targeted analyses on topics including metropolitan transportation behavior, the infrastructure workforce, and the economic dimensions of the digital divide.

    Ali Wolf

    Chief Economist, Zonda

    Ali Wolf is the Chief Economist for Zonda. As head of the Economics Department, Ali manages and analyzes the content for Zonda, provides data analytics, runs special research projects, and presents nationwide, covering topics across the housing market and the wider economy. Ali has focused much of her career on understanding prior recessions and led the charge on ‘Millennials discussing Millennials’ in the homebuilding space. Highly regarded as an industry expert, Ali is quoted frequently in national publications including Bloomberg TV, CNBC, NPR Marketplace, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Yahoo! Finance. Prior to joining the Zonda team, Ali worked for another consultancy firm and was a researcher for both the Canadian and UK Parliaments. Ali holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in Economics and a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics in Real Estate Economics and Finance.

    Stuart Miller

    Executive Chairman, Lennar

    Stuart Miller is Executive Chairman of Lennar Corporation, (NYSE:LEN) one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. He is also a member of Lennar’s Board of Directors. Mr. Miller joined Lennar after graduating from the University of Miami Law School in 1982, serving in various capacities for the Company’s Homebuilding Division and former Investment and Commercial Properties Division. From 1991 to October 1997, Mr. Miller was the President of both of these business segments and the primary force behind their growth and success during that time. He became CEO of Lennar in April 1997 until he assumed his current role as Executive Chairman in April 2018. On October 31, 1997, Lennar Corporation spun off its commercial real estate investment, financial, and management activities into LNR Property Corporation, which company became separately listed on the NYSE. Mr. Miller served as Chairman of the Board of LNR until the sale of LNR in February, 2005. In March 2000, Mr. Miller joined the Board of Directors of Builder Homesite, Inc., a consortium of homebuilders nationwide who represented $46 billion in gross revenue for 2001 and built over 203,000 homes in 340 communities across the continental United States. He is a founding Board Member of the Leading Builders of America and a member of the Business Rountable. Mr. Miller also serves personally on various professional and community boards and committees including FivePoint Holdings and States Title Board of Directors. He is the past Chairman of the Joint Center for Housing Studies Policy Advisory Board at Harvard University. Mr. Miller is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami and Chairman of the UHealth Board of Directors. Mr. Miller served as director of the Alonzo Mourning Charities and director of The Overtown Youth Center. He was Chairman of the 2013 Dolphins Cycling Challenge benefitting the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and is the Co-Chairman of the Miami Dolphins Foundation He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
